According to Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor, the woman was crossing the road when she was hit by a northbound Nissan Frontier, which knocked her into the southbound lane and into the path of a tractor-trailer, which ran over her.

The Nissan then fled the scene.

Proctor said neither vehicle stopped at the scene.
