A Chattooga County man was arrested on DUI charges after an accident over this past weekend.
On Saturday, a Chattooga County deputy came upon a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 48 across from Martin Street in Summerville. After helping the driver from the vehicle, he noticed that the man had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
According to the report, the driver’s son showed up at the scene while the deputy was getting the driver out of the vehicle. The deputy said that the man’s son became argumentative and was making threats and the deputy ordered the son to leave.
The deputy placed the driver, identified as 63-year-old Marvin Timmons of Back Berryton Road, Summerville under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Timmons was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
