Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save lives. Lookout Mountain Community Services will host free Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Gatekeeper trainings. Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) stands for the three steps that anyone can learn to help prevent suicide.

People trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to Question, Persuade, and Refer someone to get help and support.

The free training will take place in Chattooga County on April 18, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Summerville Library. In order to attend the QPR training you must be over 18 years of age. While the QPR training sessions are free, the class size is limited and you must pre-register by emailing the number of attendees and their names to sueannw@lmcs.org.

The deadline to register for this session is Monday, April 8, 2019 by 5:00 p.m.

Once a training session reaches the maximum amount of participants any additional individuals will be placed on a waiting list for additional, free, QPR trainings to be announced at a later date based on interest within the county.

To register, or to learn more, please email sueannw@lmcs.org or call 706.638.5580 X4114 MondayFriday 8:30 -5:00.
