A tractor-trailer accident on Highway 27 at Taylor’s Ridge Wednesday morning snarled traffic for several hours. The accident happened around 7 AM as a truck hauling large rolls of paper was headed northbound up the ridge.
Sheriff Mark Schrader was warning motorists to find an alternate route during their morning commute due to the accident. The sheriff said that it appeared that the load shifted on the driver as he was headed up the ridge causing the truck to overturn in a ditch on the side of Highway 27.
The sheriff said that it would take some time for workers to clean up the accident as the truck lost some of the large rolls of paper. Those rolls were being loaded onto a rollback truck and will be taken to a storage facility.
The sheriff said that one lane of Highway 27 was open as of 10:15 AM, however, it will be some time before both lanes are open and traffic returns to normal.
