Chattooga Wrestling Rescheduled for Tuesday

Monday's wrestling matches at Chattooga have been postponed until Tuesday due to weather conditions. Times will be updated as they become available. 

 

CHS Basketball @ Coosa Postponed

Due to Floyd County Schools being closed Monday, January 9, the CHS vs. Coosa game will  be postponed. CHS will play Tuesday, January 10, at Gordon Central. Updated game times will be posted here and on the Chattooga High School Yearbook Facebook page as they become available.  

 

CHS Wrestling Duals Moved to Monday 1/9

The 3AA Area Wrestling Duals that were scheduled for this weekend (January 7th) at CHS have been moved to Monday, January 9, at 10:00am in the Tribe Pride Arena. 

 

CHS Friday Night Basketball Postponed

CHS Basketball games scheduled for Friday, January 6,  at Coosa have been postponed. The tentative plan is to make up the games on Monday, January 9th, at Coosa. Coaches are still working out the details of games and game times. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.

FFA Ham Shoot This Saturday

FFA will host a Ham Shoot Saturday, November 11 at 11 am at the Ag Building. All Proceeds will benefit the FFA Dairy Show Team. Rounds are $5 each. Prizes include hams and cash. A raffle will be held for a YETI Hopper. Chances on the YETI are $5 each or 5 for $20. This is a fun event come out and support the Chattooga Dairy Show Team. 

 

FREE Financial Aid Workshop @ CHS Nov. 30

Chattooga High School will be hosting a free FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Student Aid) Workshop on Thursday, November 30. The workshop will be from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the CHS Career Center, room 2109. There will be representatives from local colleges present to assist with any questions. CHS Featured in GA School Board Magazine

Chattooga High School has been featured in the Georgia School Board Association's Magazine. An article about CHS highlights the high school's positive points including a 92% graduation rate last spring, an outstanding Career, Technical and Agricultural Program (CTAE), and the Jobs for Georgia Graduates Program. The article also includes information from CHS Principal Jeff Martin and Chattooga County Schools Superintendent Jimmy Lenderman about the positive changes that have taken place at CHS over the past few years. FREE Driver’s ED for CHS & Trion Registration 10/27

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is offering FREE Driver's Education training to CHS and THS students. Registration will be held Thursday October 27 from 2-6pm at the Chattooga County Education Center (Old Summerville Elementary School). To register enter the building in the rear entrance located at 286 Maple Drive, Summerville. To register parents need to have their child's permit and a copy of the child's social security card. The parent and child will also have to sign a contract stating they both agree to the terms of the program. Parents will need to attend a mandatory orientation. Students can sign up  for Behind the Wheel (BTW) training times at registration.  Behind the Wheel training will begin prior to first classroom meeting. Drive times are listed below. 

The Class will be held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday November 21, 22. 23, and 25. This will be during the Chattooga County School System's Thanksgiving break. 

Any student with a Class C Instructional Permit can sign up for the class. The course meets the requirements for Joshaua's Law which requires 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of driving time with a certified instructor to receive a Class D License.  To register pick up a form from the front office at CHS or show up with your student at the Chattooga Education Center on Thursday, October 27 from 2-6pm.
