CHS Band Concert Thursday Night

The Chattooga Concert Band will host their winter concert Thursday, March 7th at 7pm in the CHS Cafeteria. The event will open with a performance by the Chattooga Jazz Band. The Concert Band will follow. The public is invited to attend this free event.

 

LMES Color Run Set for April

Leroy Massey Elementary School will host a Color Run on Saturday, April 13th at 8am. The event will feature a 5k and a 1 mile fun run. The registration fee for the run is 20 and the walk fee is $15. Registration forms can be printed from the link below or picked up at the following schools:

Chattooga School System Launching Purposity App

 

 

 

 

 

The Chattooga County School system is calling on the community to sign up for a new app that will help serve the needs of students. the app is called Purposity and it is being used by many schools around the Northwest Georgia Area and across the United States. According to their website, the name of the app is a combination of the words ‘purpose’ and ‘generosity’ and it is designed to connect people with specific needs to those who can help.

CHS Students Participate in Technical Fair

Three CHS Students participated in the Northwest Technical Competition January 25th at Georgia Highlands College. 10th grader Chaley Harris and 11th grader Gabe McGuire submitted stunning photos and competed in the Digital Photography event. 10th grader Gray Beach submitted a music video and competed in the Video Production event. Each of the students are enrolled in the Audio Video Technology and Film course at CHS. The AVTF program is in its second year and is the newest CTAE Pathway to be offered at Chattooga.

CHS Rising Freshmen Night This Thursday

Chattooga High School will host Rising Freshmen Night this Thursday, January 31 at 6pm. This event will give upcoming 9th graders and their parents and guardians a chance to meet with 9th grade teachers, learn about course options and CTAE Pathways, tour the school, hear from CHS Principal Mr. Jeff Martin and more. Former CHS Vocational Director Kennith Moseley Inducted into GA Agriculture Education Hall of Fame

Earlier this week Mr. Kennith Moseley was inducted into the Georgia Agriculture Education Hall of Fame. Mr. Moseley is a former Chattooga Young Farmer Teacher and CHS Vocational Director.

CHS One Tribe Casino Night February 6th

Chattooga High School will host One Tribe Night on Wednesday, February 6th from 5:30 to 6:30pm. The theme of the event will be Casino Night and will feature the CHS Math Department. Math teachers and students will be set up in the cafeteria hosting Casino style games of chance that teach math strategies. Participants can win tickets to trade for prizes. Light refreshments will be served. The public is welcome and invited to attend this unique and exciting event!

CHS Basketball Games Scheduled for Friday and Saturday

Chattooga Basketball fans should gear up and get ready to support their Indians tonight and again on Saturday. CHS will host Model Friday January 4th. JV Girls will begin at 4:15 followed by JV Boys. Varsity girls will begin at approximately 7:00pm followed by Varsity Boys. The teams will host Ft. Payne on Saturday, January 5th. JV Girls will begin at 2pm followed by JV Boys. Varsity Girls will begin at 5pm followed by Varsity Boys.

CHS Will Host Booker T. Washington High Friday Night

The Chattooga Indians will host the Hornets from Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta Friday night. CHS defeated Pepperell last Friday to clench the number two seed in Region 7AA. The win earned the Indians the chance to host the first round of the GHSA State Playoffs. CHS hasn’t hosted a playoff game since 2001.

Gate Admission will be $8.00. CHS students can purchase one pre-sale ticket at school on Friday for $6.00. Kickoff will be at 7:30pm. Chattooga fans are encouraged to pack the stands of the Little Big Horn Stadium and support the Chattooga Indians.

Register Now for Driver’s Ed Class

Georgia Northwestern Technical College will be hosting a Driver’s Education spread out over four Saturdays. The Course begins Saturday, November 10 and runs through Saturday, December 1. The course meets the requirements for Joshua’s Law, which requires 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of drive time with a certified instructor. The course also qualifies individuals or the Teen Driver’s Education insurance discount. The cost of the class is $350.

Registration will be held at the Chattooga County Education Center (Old Summerville Elementary School) on Monday, October 29 through Wednesday October 31 from 9am until 12 noon. Participants should access the school from the Maple Drive entrance located at 286 Maple Drive, Summerville.
