The Bicycle Ride Across Georgia (BRAG) is coming through Chattooga County later this month. The ride will take cyclists from Chattanooga to Atlanta on a ride through Walker County and into Chattooga County on their way to Atlanta.
The organization is part of a nationwide network of bicycle enthusiasts who enjoy long distance riding. The BRAG Route 21 event will take place September 28-30th.
September 28th, the cyclists will come out of Walker County on Center Post Road into Chattooga County and travel onto Tate Road and then to Creekside Drive. From there, they will take go to Dry Valley Baptist Church Road and then on to Orchard Hill Road. The cyclists will then take Northwest Congress Street on to Dowdy Park into downtown Summerville, where they will be spending the night at Dowdy Park.
The ride will leave Summerville on September 29th and take Highway 48 to Back Berryton Road and then on to Dovers Cut over to Highway 114 into Lyerly. The route will then continue to Lyerly Dam Road and Starling Mill Road to Highway 100 where the riders will proceed into Floyd County.
BRAG follows the riders with their luggage and provides medical and emergency assistance to the riders during the event.
