CHS Red Ribbon Week 10/27-10/30

Chattooga High School will be observing Red Ribbon Week October 27-30. 

This year's theme is "Respect Yourself, Be Drug Free."  Each day students and teachers are asked to dress in a particular theme. 

The themes are:
Tuesday – "Give Drugs the Boot" (Dress in western/cowboy attire.
Wednesday – "Rockin' Through the Years Drug Free" (Dress in your favorite decade's attire)
Thursday – "Be a Superhero, Stand Up Against Drugs"  (Dress as your favorite superhero, or wear a superhero t-shirt)
Friday – "Team Up Against Drugs"  (Wear your favorite team jersey, CHS t-shirts, or red shirt to show your support against drugs)

CHS FFA Collecting Food and Toiletry Items

Chattooga High FFA is collecting canned food items from not until November 13th. Any donation of a non perishable food item can be dropped off at CHS or given to any FFA member.

The FFA is also collecting  toiletry items as a community service project beginning now through December 11th. Any donations of soap, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, tooth paste, tooth brushes, or other toiletry items is appreciated. These items can also be dropped off at CHS or given to any FFA member.

Food and toiletry items will be distributed locally through churches and local shelters.

CHS Parents: Recognize Your Senior

 

The Deadline for purchasing senior ads for the yearbook is Friday, October 28th! Senior ads are on sale now! Parents can celebrate the graduation of their senior with a dedication in the 2012 yearbook. There are several templates to choose from and prices range from an eighth page ad to a full page spread. These tributes show seniors just how special they are and are great for highlighting accomplishments. Parents you can have your special senior stand out by purchasing a tribute to recognize their achievement. The Sequoyah yearbook staff is working feverishly to prepare the 2012 yearbook. This year’s book is guaranteed to be a hot ticket item! The book is on sale now and copies are limited! To get your book you should see Mary Beth Housch or Buffy Williams in room B23. You can also order online by visiting www.yearbookordercenter.com and entering order # 723 and follow the prompts to purchase.  The cost of the book is $65 and this introductory price is for a limited time only.  The first 25 students to purchase will receive a free autograph supplement. Colleges Coming to CHS

October 21         Valdosta State University $40 application fee October 25         Kennesaw State University $40 application fee November 16    Abraham Baldwin (ABAC)  $20 application fee 

* Students will be able to speak with a college representative one-on-one and complete the application process.  Seniors should be prepared with questions, concerns, etc.  CHS will provide official transcripts to colleges. Colleges will mmeet from 9-11am in the CHS Media Center.

** All colleges EXCEPT Valdosta State University will accept an application fee waiver if the student has used a fee waiver for the SAT or ACT (scores must have been given to CHS).  Students who do not qualify for a fee waiver may make a check out to the college/universitiy for the application fee.

   

CHS upcoming BBQ Benefit

CHS will be hosting a benefit BBQ to fund the fencing around the Track field.  This event will be held on May 7th, from 11am til 2pm, at the High School. 

CHS has a co-sponsor for this event, Modern Woodmen of America Chapter 8466 will be matching all proceeds raised up to $2500.

BBQ Plates will include: BBQ, Potatoes Salad, Baked Beans, and a Roll.
