Plans are underway for the 2019 Chattooga County Agricultural Fair. The Fair Committee says that they have secured entertainment for Saturday night at the fair, but cannot announce the main act due to contract requirements. That announcement is expected in the upcoming weeks.
This will be the sixth fair since 2014 when the Chattooga County Agricultural Fair was reinstated. Last year, over 10,000 people attended the fair which featured additional livestock shows and an expanded midway.
The Chattooga County Agricultural Fair highlights the achievements of Chattooga County’s livestock and agricultural students. 4-H and FFA students from all area schools participate in the livestock shows which have expanded to include hogs, poultry, goats and more.
Since its inception in 2014 as a joint-venture between county government and local municipalities the fair has relied on donations from area businesses and industry and also has received money from both the City of Summerville and the Town of Trion.
This year’s fair will be held August 22-25 at the Chattooga County Agricultural Building off Highway 100 in Summerville.
