The Chattooga County Board of Education will hold their monthly work session coming up this evening at 6 PM at the Board Meeting Room on Penn Street in Summerville.  Two members of the public have asked to speak to the board at tonight’s work session.  Also the board will be considering a high school elective class proposed by board member John Agnew that was tabled at the February 28th meeting.  The board is also expected to approve several personnel changes, including the transfer of Paula Buice from her current position as the county-wide Academic Coach to Principal at Menlo Elementary School.  Ms. Buice, who has served as Menlo principal before, will be replacing the retiring Mark Pickle.  Tonight’s work session starts at 6 PM and is open to the public.  You can see the full agenda below:

         Mountain Education Charter High School.

 2.  (needs action) Board consideration of Superintendent’s recommendation to approve

          the following overnight/over 50 miles field trip:

         The Chattooga High School FCCLA is taking 9 students to the State Leadership

         Conference in Atlanta.  They will leave on 03/15/19 and return on 03/19/19.  There

         will be 2 adult chaperones, including Teacher/Coordinator, Kayla Hartline.

  3. (needs action) Board consideration of Superintendent’s recommendation to approve

          the following overnight/over 50 miles field trip:

          The Summerville Middle School FFA will be taking 4 student to Athens, Georgia to

          the University of Georgia State FFA Poultry Career Development.  They will leave

          on 03/22/19 and return on 03/23/19.  There will be 1 adult chaperone, Teacher/

          Coordinator, Lauren Jarrett.
