If you have attended the Chattooga County Agricultural Fair and other events around the county, you have probably seen Chattooga County’s “CERT Team” hard at work.  The organization exists to assist law enforcement and emergency responders with events and in times of emergency.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact our area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

Chattooga County’s CERT Team will be holding a meeting coming up tomorrow evening at 6 PM.  The meetings are held at the CERT Building, located just past the Chattooga County EMA 911 building on Farrar Drive in Summerville.

The group will be discussing a new CERT training class that will be held in the near future.
