The Chattooga County Fair Council released attendance numbers for the 2018 Chattooga County Agricultural Fair on Thursday morning.

Fair Council Treasurer Kristin Croy says that this year there were a total of 9,757 people who were paid attendees of the fair.  That number surpassed the 2017 total of 8,454.  Croy pointed out that the numbers do not reflect the number of livestock participants each day of the fair; nor does it take into account the number of vendors and volunteers on any given day.

This year’s fair was well attended and Fair Council Members say that the weather certainly helped.  Instead of the typical August heat and humidity, the fair was blessed with almost fall-like temperatures the first two days of the fair.

Below are the attendance numbers for the 2018 Chattooga County Agricultural Fair:

Thursday – August 23rd – 497 Paying – 554 Students Free Admission sponsored by Ag Georgia Farm Credit  (Thursday 2017 – 589 paying and 492 students – free admission)

Friday – August 24th – 1,770 Paying – 57 Veterans with free admission (Friday 2017 – 1,465 paying – 32 Veterans free admission)

Saturday – August 25th – 5,037 Paying (Saturday 2017 – 4,016 paying)

Sunday – August 26th – 1,842 Free Admission sponsored by the Town of Trion (2017 1,860 free admission)
