The Summerville City Council approved the replacement of 660 feet of sewer main on Ramey Street at Monday night’s city council meeting.
Summerville Public Works Director Terry Tennie said that the cost to replace the sewer line would be around $77,000, but the money for the project is already in place. The city had money left over from a sewer main replacement on Bittings Avenue that was completed last year. The money came from a Community Development Block Grant. The council approved the sewer main replacement on Ramey Street with a unanimous vote.
Also, the city council approved the purchase of two pumps at the Martin Street booster station for the Summerville Water Department. The cost of the pumps will be $16,791.
The Summerville City Council will be holding a budget meeting coming up on Monday evening, May 21st at 5 PM.
