A domestic incident led to the arrests of two people earlier this week after a woman jumped from a moving vehicle in downtown Summerville.
According to a report from the Summerville Police Department, two eyewitnesses told police that they had seen a woman jump from a moving vehicle on West Washington Street. The woman ran into the area of Cook’s Scrap Metal.
When police made contact with the woman, she was identified as twenty-five-year-old Patricia Elizabeth Strawn. Strawn told a police officer that she had been involved in a domestic incident and was trying to get away from nineteen-year-old Preston Garrett Hogue. Strawn had an injured lip and blood on her elbow. Police also located Hogue who had a laceration on his neck and a bite mark on his leg.
Officers determined that the incident started outside the city limits and notified the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
Both Hogue and Strawn were arrested by the sheriff’s department and charged with simple battery. A report from the sheriff’s department was not yet available, as of Thursday afternoon.
