A familiar face to most Chattooga County residents, Mr. Hoyt Williams, Sr. was honored yesterday for 25 years of service at the local Wal-Mart.

Mr. Williams is 94 years young and a second generation store owner himself.  Mr. Hoyt ran the old Trion and Summerville Store close to the Tooga Theater for many years.

Twenty-five years ago, he went to work at Wal-Mart.  You may remember, twenty-five years ago the Blizzard of ’93 hit Chattooga County.  Mr. Hoyt came in on his off-day to help out at the store during the blizzard.

Mr. Williams is a veteran of World War II and was honored yesterday with his 25 year pin from Wal-Mart.
