The Georgia Department of Transportation will be hosting an open house this evening at Menlo City Hall concerning the proposed bridge replacement over Chelsea Creek on Old Highway 337 in Menlo.
“We would like to hear the viewpoints and concerns of all area residents,” says Grant Waldrop, district engineer at the Georgia DOT office in Cartersville.
The proposed plans call for replacing the existing bridge on Old Hwy 337 over Chelsea Creek with a new bridge that is approximately 28 feet wide and 80 feet long. The road will be closed during the construction of the new bridge. An offsite detour will be necessary.
This detour open house will provide the public with an opportunity to view the proposed detour for construction, ask questions, and comment on it.
The event will be held this evening from 5 until 7 PM. Public comments on the proposed project will be accepted by the Georgia DOT until December 20th.
