AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio reported that three cases of suspected Avian Bird Flu were discovered in three different Northern Alabama counties.

The State of Alabama Department of Agriculture has issued a stop movement order on any type of birds or fowl.  This means that the sale of any poultry or other birds is strictly prohibited.  Therefore any and all types of bird or fowl will not be allowed to be sold at Collinsville Trade Day flea market or anywhere else in Alabama until this ban has been lifted.

Residents of Georgia who see anything suspicious with their poultry should contact their county extension agent.

If your backyard flock experiences sudden death, you should call 855-491-1432.  The USDA, Georgia Department of Agriculture, the State Veterinarian and local Extension Office will investigate incidents of sudden death in poultry flocks.
