Earlier this week William Levi Ragland of Lyerly told Chattooga County Sheriff's Department investigators that he lied about an incident that was reported in Lyerly.

Ragland was involved in an altercation with Robert Hunt back on January 20th.  At the time, Ragland told sheriff's deputies that Hunt had pulled a knife on him during the altercation and had cut him on the hand.

Ragland filled out a dismissal form with the sheriff's department this month, saying that he was mad at Mr. Hunt and had lied about receiving the injuries to his hand.

Ragland was charged with false report of a crime.
