Last week, the Trump Administration released its proposed Federal Budget, which includes decreases in domestic spending.

The Environmental Protection Agency will be cut by 31.4%, foreign aid and international programs would see a 28% decrease, while labor department will be cut by 20%.

Some federal agencies like the Appalachian Regional Commission would be eliminated in the budget. Chattooga County and Northwest Georgia has benefited from grants from the Appalachian Region Commission in the past.

The ARC was established in 1965 and provides grants for 13 Appalachian states, including Georgia.

The agency has a $146,000,000 budget.
