The Georgia Department of Agriculture gave the “all clear” for poultry movement in the State of Georgia on Wednesday.

Ag officials said, “THE SUSPENSION OF POULTRY ASSEMBLY IS RESCINDED: Effective immediately all poultry exhibitions, shows, sales (flea markets, auction markets), swaps, and meets in the State of Georgia are permitted to return to normal operation.”

The Department of Agriculture said that multiple samples from the poultry farm in Chattooga County where birds had tested positive for Avian Influenza have now come back negative.

Ag officials added, “As a reminder, Avian Influenza resides in our wild birds, especially wild waterfowl. In order to protect your flock from disease, it is sound practice to maintain BIOSECURITY at all times.”
