Fatality in Wreck Between Gaylesville and Cedar Bluff PDF Print E-mail

One person has been confirmed dead following a single vehicle accident taking place on Alabama Highway 68 East between Cedar Bluff and Gaylesville on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the accident at approximately 11:11 a.m. Wednesday with the Cedar Bluff Police Department, Alabama State Troopers, Gaylesville Fire Department, Cherokee EMS and the Cherokee County Rescue Squad responding to the scene.

Firefighters and medics removed the victim from the vehicle before he was rushed to Cherokee Medical Center where he later died from injuries sustained in the accident, that according to Cherokee County Coroner Jeremy Deaton.

The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification of family. We’ll have more details as soon as the official accident report is released.
