The Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force made several arrests in Walker County this week and put a Dade County meth lab out of business.

Drug Task Force Commander Pat Doyle said that it is rare to find a meth lab these days, as most meth is now imported.  In 2003, the Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force destroyed 173 meth labs – last year the drug task force destroyed less than 20.

In Walker County, 42 year-old Vernon Ray Bragg and 52 year-old Richard Thomas Demerritt were charged with meth possession in two separate cases.

The Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force serves Walker, Dade, Catoosa and Chattooga Counties.
