Chattoga County Sheriff's Deputies were called to Starling Mill Road in Lyerly last Saturday about a criminal trespass incident.

Jacob Eden told responding deputies that a subject had been at his residence causing problems.  Eden said that the man had stolen some items from him and that he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  Eden said that he had ran the man off from the residence.

Deputies went to the residence of the male subject accused of causing problems.  According to deputies, the man did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  The man told deputies that he had gone to the Eden residence to have Jacob Eden's mother prepare his taxes and Mr. Eden had ran him off.

Deputies told the man to stay away from the Eden residence.

A short time later deputies were called back to the same area in reference to a call about shots being fired.  A member of the Eden household said that someone had fired five shots while they were out walking their dog.

Deputies went and spoke with the male subject that had been told not to come back to the Eden residence.  They found him fishing at Camp Poplar Springs Lake.  The subject said that his father had fired a rifle from the front porch, "just to be shooting."  Deputies did not find a weapon on the subject and told him once again to stay away from the Eden residence.
