A high-speed chase from Georgia into Alabama resulted in the arrest of a nineteen-year-old man earlier this week.

The pursuit started when a Floyd County Police officer clocked a black Dodge Charger doing eighty-two miles per hour in a fifty-five mile per hour zone on Highway 20 near the Alabama state line.

Floyd County Police say that Chase Riley Keener refused to pull over and led the officer on a high-speed chase into Cherokee County, Alabama.  Police say that Keener nearly collided with a log truck and reached speeds of over one hundred miles per hour during the pursuit.

Cedar Bluff Police stopped Keener where he was taken into custody in Alabama.

Georgia officials say that he will be charged with speeding, reckless driving, unlawful transfer of a license plate, no insurance and felony fleeing or attempting to elude.

Warrants have been taken out for Keener in Georgia.
