A Rome man was jailed Saturday on a charge of being a fugitive from justice.

According to Floyd County Jail records, A Nissan Sentra driven 43-year old David Ryan Thompson of Harrison Road failed to stop for a Rome Police Officer who was directing traffic following a serious wreck at Martha Berry Boulevard and North 5th Avenue.

Thompson finally stopped 50-75 feet away.

The officer ran Thompson’s name through GCIC and found out that he was wanted on an active warrant out of Dekalb County, Alabama.
