A fifty-year-old Summerville man was arrested on Highland Avenue over this past weekend after Summerville Police received a call about a man waving a knife and stopping traffic.

Police had received calls before about a man waving a knife at passing motorists on Highland Avenue over the past several weeks but police were unable to locate the man.  Saturday, Chattooga 911 got more calls about a possibly intoxicated man with a knife waving a knife at passing cars.

When police responded on Saturday they found an intoxicated man at a residence near Highland Avenue on Seventh Street. Police say that when they arrived the man still had the knife in his hand.

Terry Macarthur Adams told police that he “just wanted to get his medication and go to bed.”

Adams was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
