Mrs. Bertha Eulene “Nanny” Timmons, age 78 of Trion, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017.

Mrs. Timmons was born in Sylvania, Alabama on May 9, 1939, daughter of the late William Walter “Bill” Vernon and Emma Mae Broyles Vernon. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, working in the flower garden and fishing, and prior to retirement, was employed in the Spinning Room at Mt. Vernon Mills. Mrs. Timmons was preceded in death by two daughters, Irene McDowell and Annette Campbell; her husband, JB Timmons; grandchildren, Quincy Arp and Tim Bartlett; and sisters, Dale Campbell, Essie Martin, Inez Wright, Linda Priest and Sue Fountain.

Mrs. Timmons is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Wanda Timmons; daughters and son-in-law, Kay and Mike Bartlett and Carol Tuttle; brother, Bobby Vernon; 11 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Timmons will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Harris and Mr. Ralph McWhorter officiating. Interment will follow in the Howell Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Timmons, Sr., Mike Bartlett, Eddie Timmons, Jr., Casey Reynolds, Monty Beavers and Jon Ledbetter. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Smith and Dewayne Howard.

Mrs. Timmons will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.
