Mrs. Mary Helen Maxwell, age 87 of Trion, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Rossville, Georgia.
Mrs. Maxwell was born in DeKalb County, Alabama on April 6, 1931, daughter of the late Fred Doster McKeehan and Ora Alsie Shaver McKeehan. She was a member of the Pennville First Baptist Church and was retired from Mohawk Industries. She was an excellent seamstress, was known for her ability to bake wonderful cakes, loved music and singing, and in her younger days, enjoyed painting and drawing. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Maxwell was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Thomas Maxwell, Sr. on May 26, 1973.
Mrs. Maxwell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Rita Maxwell; step daughter, Dot Stowe Martin; sisters, Violet D. Shaw and Burmah and Kaye Teague; brother, John B. McKeehan; grandson, Dylan Maxwell; step granddaughter, Madison Bennett and a step grandson, Phillip Stowe; great grandchildren, Courtney Stowe Parris and Meagan Stowe Watson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Maxwell will be held Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Wynn officiating. Private interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Maxwell will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
