Records from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office indicate that a county woman’s wallet was stolen this week.

On Tuesday, December 4th, around 7 PM, a county deputy spoke with Rocky Hollow Road resident Betsy Perry about her wallet going missing at United Community Bank’s Trion branch.

“Ms, Perry advised that she went in the bank to make a transaction on Tuesday, December the 4th around 0900 hours, and when leaving after making her transaction she forgot her purse laying on a counter.”

When Perry returned shortly thereafter, her purse was not there.

The case is under investigating by the county sheriff’s department.

UPDATE: The woman’s wallet was left on her vehicle and later recovered.
