Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader says that his department along with Georgia State Troopers from the Rome Patrol Post held a “concentrated patrol” on Wednesday of this week. The sheriff said that many area residents had commented on the high visibility of law enforcement on Wednesday, and added that the extra-effort by area law enforcement netted results.
Sheriff Schrader said that a wanted felon from the Atlanta effort was taken into custody as a result of the exercise. Also, deputies and troopers arrested one for D.U.I. and another for felony drug possession.
Sheriff Schrader commented, “I appreciate the public’s support to make our roadways safer to travel for everyone.”
