One of the oldest churches in Chattooga County will be celebrating their 175th Anniversary later this month.  Trion First Baptist Church has served the residents of Trion and the surrounding area since 1869, when it was known as the “Trion Factory First Baptist Church”The church will be holding Homecoming services on Sunday, August 18 starting at 10:30 AM.  J. Marcus Merritt, lead missionary from the Georgia Baptist Mission Board will be on hand to present the church with a plaque to commemorate the anniversary.

Dove Award-winning group “The Talleys” will be singing during the service.  The Talleys have had eleven number-one Southern Gospel songs and have made appearances on the Bill Gaither Homecomings and have ministered with Dr. Charles Stanley from First Baptist Church in Atlanta, on his television program “In Touch.”

Reverend Mike Woods, who grew up at Trion First Baptist Church and is now the senior pastor at First Baptist Church of Powder Springs will be the guest speaker.  The church will have a Homecoming meal following the morning service.
