If you have a backyard flock of chickens and you want to sell eggs to the public, you may want to take advantage of an egg-candling class that will be hosted by the UGA Extension.

The Walker County Extension Office will be hosting the egg-candling class next month on February 13 at the Walker County Ag Center located in Rock Spring.

The Georgia Department of Agriculture will teach the class which is required to obtain an egg-candling certificate.  Anyone with a backyard flock that plans to sell their eggs in Georgia is required to have the certificate.

There is no cost for the class and there will be several different sessions: 8 AM, 10 AM, Noon and 2 PM.

To register for the class, contact the Georgia Department of Agriculture at 770-535-5955.
