The woman accused of running over a Dade County deputy as she led Fort Payne, Alabama Police on a high speed chase last year has been sentenced to prison.

Lora Wooten appeared in court on Thursday. Wooten is accused of running over Major Tommy Bradford with the Dade County Sheriff’s while he was laying down spike strips as she tried to outrun multiple law enforcement agencies.  Wooten was a suspect in a burglary in DeKalb County at the time of the incident.

Wooten was charged with nineteen different counts in connection with the theft and chase. As part of her guilty plea, Wooten will not go to trial.

She was sentenced to forty years in prison with fifteen to serve before being eligible for parole. Her prison term began yesterday.
