A Chattooga County woman says that her checkbook was stolen at Wal-Mart last Friday.
Mary Tucker told an investigator that she was at Wal-Mart in Trion when her checkbook, which contained $340 in cash, was taken from her pocket book as she was printing off some pictures in the photography section of the store.
Later that same day, Ms. Tucker said that she received a call from a man who said he had found her checkbook and wanted to return it to her. The man reportedly left the checkbook at Mason Funeral Home in Summerville, but the money was not with the checkbook when Ms. Tucker went to retrieve it.
The case is currently under investigation.
