A two vehicle accident on Taylor Ridge Wednesday evening involved a sheriff’s patrol car and a white Honda.

According to Chief Deputy Kevin Wood with the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy received a bolo call about a domestic incident and was attempting to turn around on the south side of Taylor Ridge when he struck the oncoming Honda in the passenger side.

The driver of the Honda was twenty-three-year-old Lexi Wilson of Summerville. Chief Deputy Wood said that the sheriff’s deputy was at fault in the accident and simply did not see the oncoming Honda. Both the deputy and Wilson were taken to Redmond Regional Medical Center by Redmond EMS for evaluation. There were no serious injuries in the accident.

The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department along with Redmond EMS and the Gore Fire Department and the Georgia State Patrol responded to the accident.

UPDATE: According to Sheriff Mark Schrader the deputy, Dexter Blackmon, and the victim, Lexi Wilson are both in good condition and were released from Redmond after evaluation.
