Officials planning for next month’s Battle of Chickamauga celebration in Walker County gathered Thursday to iron out more of the fine details.The planners discussed emergency services, vendors, campsite locations, parking, entrances, road closings, water and wood supplies, and bathroom locations, just to name a few

The 145th Battle of Chickamauga celebration, a three-day event, will hold its opening ceremony on Friday, Sept. 19, at 1 p.m. at Davis Crossroads in Chickamauga.The celebration is expected to draw thousands of re-enactors and spectators. An estimated 3,000-4,000 re-enactors are expected to attend the event, including 1,000 from Virginia.
