The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. said that more than three out of five Georgia banks lost money last year. The FDIC said in a data release that the state banks lost a collective $3.2 billion. The 63 percent of Georgia banks to not post a profit last year compared to 49.4 percent in 2008 and 15.3 percent in 2007.
In terms of national banks, 30 percent posted losses last year.
