A 63 year old Cherokee County man has been arrested on Arson charges.
The Cherokee County Sheriffs Office recently received information, which indicated that a person was possibly conspiring to have a business in Centre burned.
Investigators with the Sheriff`s Office contacted Centre Fire Chief Kevin Ware – who is a Certified Law Enforcement Officer, as well as a Fire and Arson Investigator – and State Fire Marshal Tommy Wiggonton, to assist in the case.
Officers conducted an investigation which culminated in the arrest of Jeff Thomas Jordan of 205 Jordan Drive in Centre – he is currently lodged in the Cherokee County Detention Center on charges of Solicitation to Commit Arson 2nd Degree, and also Conspiracy to Commit Arson 2nd Degree – both of which are Class C Felonies.
More than $3,000 dollars in cash and a 2008 Chevrolet Pick-up were seized at the time of Jordan`s arrest – Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver said Jordon was taken into custody without incident, in a traffic stop.
