The run-off election in Chattooga County will be two weeks from Tuesday, and currently the absentee ballots are not available. AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio News spoke with Judge Jon Payne’s office on Monday, and they stated that the ballots have been prepared and sent to the printer. It is expected that absentee ballots will be ready by the end of this week, possibly as early as Thursday.
The best way to vote early will be to participate in early voting next week. Early voting for the run-off election gets underway on Monday at 8:30 AM and will run through Friday at 5:00 PM. Remember if you wish to vote early to bring your ID with you, and another reminder: you must have voted in the Democratic Primary in order to participate in the run-off election. The 200 plus voters in Chattooga County that voted in the Republican Primary, will not be eligible to vote in the run-off election. However, if you did not vote at all in the Primary election, and you are a registered voter you CAN participate in the run-off election.
