The Georgia State Patrol post in Rome has released the details of an accident that happened last week as cars were stopped for a funeral procession in Chattooga County.

According to the report, Cari Ann Campbell of Lindale who was driving a 1996 Ford Explorer and Cynthia R. Beardon of Summerville who was driving a 1997 Nissan Sentra were stopped for a funeral procession on Highway 27 near the intersection of Woodhave Drive.  As they were stopped Beardon’s vehicle was struck in the rear by a 1998 Chevy Lumina driven by Charles Ray Brooks of Trion.

The report stated that Brooks failed to yield for the funeral procession and struck the rear of Beardon’s car causing her to strike the rear of Campbells car.  Brooks was charged for following too close.
