The Georgia State Patrol has released information regarding an accident that happened last week on Burse Road near the intersection of Unity Church Road in Chattooga County.

According to the report, James Burse was travelling east on Burse Road in a 1997 Honda Accord.   The accident occured in a slight curve in the dead end road.  Burse travelled into the east bound lane of the road and noticed a 1996 Chevy Blazer driven by rural mail carrier Dave  Johnston of Lyerly and came to a stop, still in the west bound lane.   Johnston told troopers he was unable to avoid hitting Burse’s car.

During the investigation into the incident Burse’s car rolled into to the mail carrier’s Blazer a second time.  Troopers cited Burse for driving on the wrong side of the road.
