The Georgia State Patrol has released information regarding an accident that happened on Long Hollow Road near the Walker County Line last Saturday.
According to the report the accident happened shortly after 10 PM when Rex Jones, Jr of Trion tried to negotiate a curve and claimed that a deer ran out in front of his 2000 Ford Ranger truck. Troopers could find no evidence of any impact with a deer and charged Jones with failure to maintain a single lane, driving with license suspended and DUI for drugs along with serious injury by Vehicle. Jones had as a passenger in the car 28 year old Yanna Jones of Decatur, TN. They were taken to Redmond Regional Hospital by Chattooga County EMS with minor injuries.
According to the report the truck hit the bridge and traveled almost 50 feet down the road and struck a tree.
