The Georgia State Patrol reported several accidents in Chattooga County with injuries in their weekly report to the media.

Last Friday an accident on Highway 157 near Gilreath Mill Road at Cloudland involved two Cloudland residents.  Betty Sue Smith was stopped for a school bus that was loading children when her vehicle was struck in the rear by James Porter.  Reports indicated that the heavy fog on the mountain was a major factor in the accident.

Another accident occured on Friday of  last week on Highway 27 at the intersection of Kansas Drive when a Dodge Caravan driven by Casey Elizabeth Daniel of Trion struck a Ford Thunderbird driven by Barbara Hudgins of Trion after Hudgins pulled into the path of Daniel’s van.  Those injured were taken to Floyd Medical Center and Redmond Regional Medical Center by Chattooga County EMS.

On Thursday of last week a single vehicle accident on Oak Hill Road sent an Alabama woman to the hospital.  According to the report Amanda Lee Comer of Cedar Bluff lost control in a curve.  The driver said that another unidentified vehicle was in her lane and that she had swerved to avoid an accident.  She was taken to Floyd Medical Center by Chattooga EMS.

Also last Thursday a single vehicle accident occured on Highway 27 near Pleasant Hill Church Road when Jamila Williams of Summerville lost control of her vehicle and crossed the south bound lanes and crashed down an embankment.  Those injured in the accident were taken to Floyd Medical Center by Chattooga EMS.
