The Georgia State Patrol reported two accidents with injuries within the past week. The first accident happened on Highway 27 at the intersection of Smith Road. Shane Pauley of Summerville was travelling South on Highway 27 when he attempted to make a left hand turn on Smith Road and turned into the path of a 2000 Ford Expedition driven by Aubrey Newton of Lyerly. Newton was pulling a trailer loaded with two lawn mowers. Upon impact Newton’s trailer came loose from the Expedition and spun out into Highway 27 damaging the trailer and both lawn mowers.
The second accident was a single vehicle accident on Trion Teloga Road on Sunday. Allen Saine, age 42 of Lafayette lost control of his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle while negotiating a curve near Railey Road. Saine was transported to the Floyd Medical Center by Chattooga County EMS.
