An Alabama man was booked and released from Floyd County Jail on Saturday following his arrest on drug and traffic charges.

According to Rome Police Department and Floyd County Jail records: Demetrious Jermaine Neal, 29, of 26 Fifth St., Valley, Ala., was charged with felony possession of marijuana and the misdemeanor crimes of driving with a suspended license, fleeing the scene of a crash, no proof of insurance and following to closely.

Reports indicate Neal was involved in a crash at Shorter Avenue and Williamson Street. He fled from the scene on foot and was caught by police on Lamar Street with two large bags of marijuana in his possession.
