A Centre, Alabama postal worker has been indicted in Federal Court for stealing the mail she was supposed to be delivering and then trying to get a victim of the theft to lie about the incident.
According to reports, Rebekkah Johnson of Centre was charged in a Federal Indictment on Monday in U.S. District Court. The 35 year old woman was charged in a 4 count indictment that alleges on three separate occasions she stole mail and that she later attempted to persuade a victim to lie on her behalf.
If convicted Johnson could face 5 years in prison for each count of the theft of mail and a $250,000 fine. She could also be facing an additional 20 years for wittness tampering and another $250,000 fine.
