It`s been several years since the last round but the Cherokee County School System is once again battling bats. Cherokee County Superintendent Bryan Johnson said that an `Eradication Team` has been called in, to re-locate the bats, which had taken up temporary residence, in the ceiling at Centre Elementary School.

According to Superintendent Johnson four classrooms are affected and that classes normally taking place in those areas will simply be moved to another part of the building, until clean-up has been completed; he added that neither the school children or staff were exposed to any danger as a result of the infestation as the bats were confining themseleves to the area inside the roof, and any droppings were contained to that location.
