Following Monday night`s Council Meeting, the Town of Ider no longer has a Mayor and does not have enough Council Members to form a quorum and both the Police Chief and Fire Chief are gone as well.
Much of the three hours plus Council Meeting took place in Executive Session, and afterwards Mayor Brad Hannah resigned.
In a written statement given out after the announcement, Hannah said he felt the Town Council was in a deadlock and didn`t see it changing anytime soon.
Councilman Britt Mann also announced his resignation after the meeting, and earlier in the day, Councilman Billy Williams submitted his resignation – which Hannah announced at the meeting.
This means Alabama Governor Bob Riley will have to appoint an council member in order for their to be a quorum for Ider Town government to continue.
