AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio will remain on the air late into this evening to monitor the weather situation in Chattooga County.  We have been in constant contact today with emergency management officials in Chattooga County including the County Commissioners office, Public Works and the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department.

We will be getting updates throughout the evening on the flood situation in Chattooga County from public officials and from Jason Espy with The Summerville News.  Stay tuned to AM 1180 and to chatoogainfo.com for continuing updates on the flood situation in Chattooga County.

At 2:00 PM another heavy band of rain was moving into Chattooga County from Cherokee County Alabama.  Jerry Baker with WEIS Radio in Center told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that the area of rain was around 5 – 8 miles wide and moving through west Rome and Armuchee into southern portions of Chattooga County.

A flood warning is in affect until 9 :45 PM this evening.
