The American Red Cross disaster relief center in Trion will remain open with staff and volunteers based at the Trion United Methodist Church, 810 Pine St.

Tuesday – 9 am to 5 pm

Wednesday – 9 am to 3 pm

Thursday – 9 am to 6 pm

The Red Cross is giving residents information about seeking assistance from FEMA.

Almost 2,000 meals had been served last week with the help of the Southern Baptist Covention. It is expected that meals will continue to be provided through Oct. 4.

Families affected by the flooding should be prepared to bring some kind of identification such as a picture ID or a utility bill – anything that would include their name and pre-disaster address.

Individuals can help people affected by disasters like the recent flooding by donating to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
